A̋w Na Kēä (/ɔ̋ː/ /nɑ/ [sour; bitter] [Cock and ball torture]) is a subtropical Town located in the Ádraptlērg Region of the Confederation of Goblin Tribes.

The name A̋w Na Kēä is derived from the Goblin language, as A̋w Na Kēä was founded by Mbór Có̄ńnvō 'Desi Lovesio' Da̋ch Ermé̄s Yórméō Sé̄kīr Yä̋g, who was culturaly Goblin.

Climate

A̋w Na Kēä has a yearly average temperature of 10°C (50°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a pleasant 23°C (73°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a freezing -3°C (27°F). A̋w Na Kēä receives an average of 255 cm/y (100 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of snow during the pleasantly short winter months. Overview

A̋w Na Kēä was founded durring the early 15th century in spring of the year 1423, by Mbór Có̄ńnvō 'Desi Lovesio' Da̋ch Ermé̄s Yórméō Sé̄kīr Yä̋g. The establishment of A̋w Na Kēä was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Mbór Có̄ńnvō 'Desi Lovesio' Da̋ch Ermé̄s Yórméō Sé̄kīr Yä̋g electing to pay people to resettle in A̋w Na Kēä.

A̋w Na Kēä was built using the conventions of Goblin durring the early 15th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and A̋w Na Kēä is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

A̋w Na Kēä is buildings are arranged arrounded highly ordered system of broad paverstone streets which form hexical paterns, allowing the incides of the octagons to be common grounds for the buildings on the edges, be it for parkland, yardspace, plazas, or markets. The town has a defencive wall made from large clay bricks. The wall is constructed to the exact specifications of millitary fortifications, but the nature of its clay brick construction leaves it vulnerable to even outdated siege equipment. That said, the town is well defended against anything short of an army. Astonishigly, the brittle defences are in pristine condishion, as if they had just been finished before you laied eyes upon them.

A̋w Na Kēä has a very calm atmosphere. People can be seen relaxing, scocilizing, and going about all manner of business other than the daily grind. Men, women, children, all can be seen enjoying life in a laid-back way in the many parks which line A̋w Na Kēä’s streets. A look around A̋w Na Kēä has something terribly wrong with it. It’s impossible to put one’s finger on, but something is horribly wrong. Maybe it’s the way fog blankets the ground, but only in the connors of places. Maybe it’s the vermin scutteling between shadows in the corner of your eyes. Perhaps it’s the overcast sky which seemed to creep out of nowhere, or the distant howling of wolves. Maybe it’s everything together. Regardless, you do not feel it would be wise to remain in A̋w Na Kēä long.

A̋w Na Kēä has an animal control department which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the control, impoundment, and disposition of animals.

A̋w Na Kēä has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within A̋w Na Kēä.

A̋w Na Kēä has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

A̋w Na Kēä has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

A̋w Na Kēä has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain A̋w Na Kēä's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

A̋w Na Kēä possesses a Galvanic Power Grid, which brings galvanic current to most if not all buildings in town, and permits a great many consumer goods to function within the Town. A̋w Na Kēä's grid is powered by a boiler and turbine based power plant.

A̋w Na Kēä possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. In spite of the Galvanic Grid, these lights continue to use their old fule sources to provide nighttime illumination to all city streets.

A̋w Na Kēä has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

A̋w Na Kēä has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

Religious leaders are influential in almost any community, but in A̋w Na Kēä they make up the final authorities. It may be an explicit theocracy, with rule by the clerics of a particular faith, or a temple might be so important and powerful that the official leaders are helpless to resist its will. The locals can be expected to be loyal adherents to the faith, or else the less pious majority is deeply intimidated by the religion’s believers.

A̋w Na Kēä's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is inspired by the natural world, characterized by sinuous, sculptural, organic shapes, arches, curving lines, and sensual ornamentation. Common motifs included stylized versions of leaves, flowers, vines, insects, animals, and other natural elements. Decorative elements found on the inside and outside of buildings include intricate mosaic work, curved windows, and decorative trim work. .
